Season 10 of The X-Files (and yes, take it from superfan Kumail Nanjiani: They’re calling it season 10) made its U.S. debut at New York Comic-Con on Saturday with an episode that was at once new and familiar. “We tried to pull things from the distant past and make them relevant to today,” said series creator Chris Carter. “We’re trying to be honest to the time we live in. When they talk about the new world order, it’s something with a lot of scope.” Nanjiani, who appears in an episode of the new season, approves. “You always think, ‘How do ... [Continua a leggere]

As the month of June draws ever closer, Fox’s X-Files revival is starting to take shape. Original series writers James Wong (American Horror Story), Glen Morgan (BBC America’s Intruders) and Darin Morgan (Those Who Kill) have signed deals with the studio and will help script the six episode limited series revival, TVWise has confirmed. Glen Morgan and James Wong are also set to direct one episode apiece, while Glen Morgan will also serve as an executive producer. The trio have been more-or-less on-board for The X-Files revival for some time, with Chris Carter revealing in a inter ... [Continua a leggere]
Series creator talks about Vancouver and B.C.’s role in making the show a hit
The truth is simple: Chris Carter loves Vancouver. The creator of hit sci-fi show The X-Files is coming back to the B.C. coast this week to be the guest speaker at a Vancouver International Film Festival Industry panel being held on National Canadian Film Day on April 29. Carter has been invited to discuss The X-Files’ deep connection to the TV and film industry in B.C. since its creation in 1993. Carter arguably opened the province’s doors to American television and film artists when he decided to shoot The X-Files in Vancouver and B.C. for its first five seasons, before taking ... EXCLUSIVE: Now that the official greenlight from Fox has arrived – after extremely lengthy talks between Chris Carter, the network and 20th Century Fox Television – the rest of the pieces of the puzzle that is The X-Files revival are starting to fall into place. With David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson confirmed to be returning to their iconic roles, the inevitable question of whether or not any further cast members will reprise their roles is lingering. TVWise can reveal that three key X-Files alums are presently being eyed to reprise their roles in the six episode event series. ... [Continua a leggere]
Late last week, TVWise broke the news that Fox was on the verge of handing an official green-light to a limited series revival of The X-Files, with series stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny on-board to reprise their roles. The network made that official today by formally greenlighting the project with a six episode order. The network also confirmed that Chris Carter is on-board and will pen the scripts and serve as an executive producer on the limited series, which is set up at sister studio 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions. Production is set to commence this Su ... [Continua a leggere]
Fans of “The X-Files” desperately “want to believe” it’s true: A continuation of the iconic sci-fi series could begin shooting as early as this summer. Fox, the network that aired “The X-Files” between 1993 and 2002, is close to finalizing a deal for a short-order run of the series with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as paranormal investigators Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, reported British television news site TVWise on Friday. The limited television event will have fewer than 10 episodes, said TVWise, citing unnam ... [Continua a leggere]
The X-Files revival is one step closer to becoming a reality.
EXCLUSIVE: The X-Files revival is one step closer to becoming a reality. Fox is close to giving an official green-light to a revival of their iconic science fiction series, which originally aired between 1993 and 2002. Per sources, the network has settled on a “short-stack” order for the revival and while the exact size of the order is yet-to-be-determined, I’m told it will be less than ten episodes (though I can’t confirm the Daily Mail’s report that it will be six). It should be stressed, however, that talks with sister studio 20th Century Fox Te ... [Continua a leggere]
The X-Files Lexicon was lucky enough to gain a spot on the press line before the X-Files panel at Paleyfest in Hollywood on Wednesday, March 25, 2008. For some cast members, it was a first reunion since the show ended. Everybody was in good spirits and eager to talk with us. But as usual, the brain trust, Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, were tight-lipped regarding any details about the upcoming X-Files movie. Here’s how it panned out. 1) FRANK SPOTNITZ and CHRIS CARTER Lisa: Which episodes, if any, does the new movie share its tone with? FS: I have to say, there is no episode exactly li ... IGN sees new footage from the film and learns the title is still out there.
At the X-Files tribute/reunion at the Paley Festival Wednesday night, series creator Chris Carter was of course asked about the upcoming X-Files movie he directed and co-wrote with Frank Spotnitz. Asked why the film is happening now, Carter answered, "'Cause [20th Century] Fox said now or never! We said better than never." Carter said production had finished filming ten days earlier. Present on the reunion panel was actor Mitch Pileggi, who played Walter Skinner on the series. Pileggi is apparently not in the new film, and turned to Carter, jokingly asking "You guys did another movie?" ... [Continua a leggere]
From March 14th to March 27th, The Paley Center for Media is presenting the twenty-fifth annual William S. Paley Television Festival. The Paley Center, formerly the Museum of Television and Radio, says that the festival celebrates "television's rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind the medium." This year the festival included Chuck, Pushing Daisies, The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion, Dirty Sexy Money among others. I've already attended the Buffy Reunion and Dirty Sexy Money (click above for those reports). Last night I went to The X-Files panel. For what happened duri ... [Continua a leggere]
Un episodio diretto dal protagonista maschile, l’apparizione di Frank Black, inquietanti ombre aliene… Sono le ultime trovate di una serie avviata alla conclusione. E gli interpreti? Si dedicheranno al cinema.
Allora, dove eravamo rimasti? [Continua a leggere]
No more guessing, no more theories – X-Files creator Chris Carter says he’s finally blowing the lid off TV’s longest-running conspiracy. but where do Mulder and Scully go from here?
X-Files actors live in mortal fear of it: the big kiss-off from series creator Chris Carter. The bell doesn’t toll often for regular characters (among the unlucky few: Deep Throat, X and Bill Mulder), but the possibility hovers, like an alien spaceship, over the cast. For one actor, the phone rang days before shooting began on a momentous two-parter (airing Feb. 7 and 14), a sweeps event that Fox is trumpeting as “The X Files conspiracy…exposed!” Divulging the identity of the doomed player would, of course, ruin the second episode’s penultimate shoc ...
Chris Cart ... [Continua a leggere]
HOLLYWOOD — For a moment, Gillian Anderson seems stunned. She has had two hours’ sleep. She has walked into the Hollywood dance zoo known as The Derby, a glorified jungle pit tucked away off Los Feliz Boulevard, to say hi to her good friend and mentor Chris Carter. Carter is sitting, Buddha-like, in a red armchair, patiently answering the questions of legions of reporters who have descended like flies at a barbeque. Anderson slips through the crowd, for one oh-so-brief moment virtually unnoticed by the hundreds of sweaty, noisy, anxious TV critics, TV fans, TV actors ... [Continua a leggere]
VANCOUVER, B.C. – So this is where sewer monsters lurk. Vampires, too. Not to mention aliens, mutants and – scariest of all – shadowy government figures. Here is where FBI Special Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder chase down the bizarre, the grotesque and the sinister in an ever-frustrated attempt to uncover The Truth about paranormal phenomena and government conspiracies. “Here,” of course, doesn’t really exist. Except in the surreal parallel world of television. And in the minds of millions of fans worldwide who have turned “The X-Files ... [Continua a leggere]
