David Duchovny on the Right Advice at the Wrong Time

On Mr. Rogers and me.

I’ve made so many mistakes. But it is my feeling that you learn from failures, so I welcome them as often as I can. My favorite mistake occurred when I was 17. I was running for the elevator at my high school when the door shut on my arm. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in the hospital. I had fainted, fallen on my face, and knocked out my two front teeth, so I spent a week in the hospital getting tests on my heart and brain. Everything appeared normal. While I was in the hospital, the only teacher who visited me was my Latin teacher, who was named Mr. Rogers, of all names. I alw ... [Continua a leggere]

The X-Files @ Comic-Con: Anderson/Duchovny Revisit TV Romance, Share Interest in New Movie

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny made their Comic-Con Ballroom 20 entrance on Thursday among darkness, with flashlights in hand, to celebrate The X-Files‘ 20th anniversary and survey the show’s future. (Yes, we said future.) They were joined by a star-studded lineup of writers/EPs – creator Chris Carter, Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad), Howard Gordon (Homeland) and John Shiban (Hell on Wheels), to name a few – to reminiscence about Mulder and Scully’s relationship and more. ‘SHIPPER ALERT | What are Anderson’s thoughts on the characters, now that 2 ...

[Continua a leggere]

David Duchovny Interview for 'Phantom'

What was it about the screenplay that drew you to this project? I think it was the intrigue of the story, the thriller aspect of it. You don’t really know what’s going on. I had to read it three or four times. Who is trying to do what? What does the Phantom do? What is my operation? What is their operation? It was fascinating to see how Todd [writer, director] worked it out. Some people might view your character as a villain? He is kind of a KGB operative. His mission is pretty much to destroy half of the world. There has to be some kind of psychological process going on ... [Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

Five questions for “Goats” director Christopher Neil

David Duchovny - Goats #1

Goats might be Chrisopher Neil’s first feature as director, but he’s worked for years as an acting coach and rehearsal adviser on projects as wide ranging as Adaptation, The Virgin Suicides, and Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith.  And it’s clear that Neil has accrued quite a stellar reputation among actors, as evidenced by Goats’ impressive ensemble (which includes David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga, and relative newcomer Graham Phillips.)  Based on the quirky debut novel by Mark Jude Proirier (who also wrote the film’s screenplay), Goats ... David Duchovny goes full-hairy as Goat Man

David Duchovny - Goats #1

We really have never seen David Duchovny quite like this before. Yes, that's him in the glasses. The hair, the beard -- it's just too fantastic. Writer/director Christopher Neil presented his coming-of-age drama Goats at the Sundance Film Festival Tuesday night. The story focuses on Graham Phillips, who plays Zach Florrick on the CBS drama The Good Wife. He's the one riding on Duchovny's back in the picture. But how can anyone forget the image of Duchovny with that insane beard and hair? In the movie he is known primarily as "Goat Man" due to his complex relationship with the animals. Bu ... Sundance gallery: ‘Goats’

"Goats," screening in Sundance’s Premieres category, debuted on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Before the screening, we talked with actors David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga and part-time Salt Lake City resident Ty Burrell, co-owner of Bar-X. The movie, directed by Christopher Neil, is the story of a teenager, Ellis (Graham Phillips), who is estranged from his father, Frank (Burrell) and mother (Vera Farmiga), but depends on the advice of the pot-growing goat-trekking sage, Goat Man (played by Duchovny). When Ellis enrolls in an East coast prep school, he begins questioning the relationships in hi ... [Continua a leggere]

Talking with David Duchovny About Californication and Family Values

Actor, writer and director David Duchovny became a household name playing Agent Mulder on the hit cult series, “The X-Files.” Now he’s achieved the rare act of starring in a second hit series– this time on Showtime. He stopped by the SiriusXM studios last week to talk about the new season of his hit show, “Californication.” What follows are some excerpts from that interview.

Ron Bennington: David Duchovny in studio with us and this is the fifth season now. David Duchovny: Yea, it’s crazy. Because we only shoot for three months it even seems like less time. When we shot The X Files it was like ten months so it seemed like five years. Ron Bennington: So three months, and you’re done so its kind of like doing a movie for you. But the cool thing is, after the first season of Californication, I was like, that’s great but we’ll never be able to do another one. But every year is like a separate movie. David Duchovny: Every year there’s ... [Continua a leggere]

David Duchovny Previews 'Californication' Season 5

It's been a long few years for David Duchovny. So long, in fact, that when "Californication" returns for its fifth season (Sun., Jan. 8 at 10:35 p.m. EST on Showtime) the show will jump ahead three years. Season 4 ended with the always drunk and sometimes charming writer Hank Moody driving off into the sunset, headed back to New York after his ex-wife Karen and daughter Becca left him alone to go on tour with her band. Duchovny served as an honorary guest-host Wednesday on "Live! With Kelly" (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) and previewed where the series will pick up this season. After sp ... [Continua a leggere]

David Duchovny nelle prime foto di Goats

David Duchovny - Goats #1

[Continua a leggere]

Dunst, Willis, Gere, Sarandon are Sundance-bound as indie fest announces star-studded films

Shadow Dancer

LOS ANGELES — It’ll be a busy shopping season at next month’s Sundance Film Festival, whose star-studded premieres are up for grabs by potential theatrical distributors. Some premieres usually enter the independent-film showcase with U.S. distribution already lined up. But festival director John Cooper said all the premieres that Sundance announced Monday will be looking for distributors. “I don’t think that’s ever happened before,” said festival director John Cooper. “It makes for a much more exciting buyer’s market, I think. At ... [Continua a leggere]
