Not Just a Fluke: How Darin Morgan Saved The X-Files

After playing the “Fluke Man”, Darin Morgan reluctantly agreed to write for The X-Files. His four episodes turned a struggling show around with humor and a deep concern with the pain of loneliness in a strange and incomprehensible world.

In its nine years on the air,The X-Files brought shadowy government conspiracies back to the center of national attention like nothing since Mark Lane’s Rush to Judgment. The show, along with other cultural milestones like Oliver Stone’s JFK, made conspiracy theory again part of the American pop culture fabric, fueling the imaginations of a public alternately fascinated by and dismissive of conspiratorial visions. Conspiracy scholar Peter Knight has suggested that “a quasi-paranoid hermeneutic of suspicion is now taken for granted by many Americans”, for whom it provid ... [Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

Da X-Files al sesso sfrenato

David Duchovny in "Californication"

Fa abus ... [Continua a leggere]

Duchovny Had X-Files Reunion

The X-Files star David Duchovny told SCI FI Wire that he had a lunch reunion in Los Angeles recently with his co-star Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter to discuss the long-gestating sequel movie."That was nice," Duchovny said while promoting his latest movie, Things We Lost in the Fire. "I see Chris quite a bit. We live kind of in the same neighborhood. We live within maybe 10 or 15 miles of one another. But I hadn't seen Gillian in a while. So it was like a reunion. It really was. It was more emotional than I would have though it was [going to be]. If you spend that muc ... [Continua a leggere]

Californication - Recensione

Lui, be’, lui l’avrete riconosciuto. ... [Continua a leggere]

The X-Files was better than The Beatles

THE X-FILES star DAVID DUCHOVNY holds the sci-fi TV series in high regard - insisting it was "better than the Beatles". The Emmy Award-winning 1990s show starred Duchovny and Gillian Anderson - as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully - investigating unusual incidents linked to paranormal activity. The programme - which ran from 1993 to 2002 - was a huge hit and Duchovny believes it was much more popular than the legendary rockers in their heyday. He says, "Come on - we were better than the Beatles. They went from 1962 to 1970 - eight years. They couldn't even make it to a ninth year, like us. ... [Continua a leggere]

Turned on

Ladies who lust are the go on prime-time TV, writes Rosemary Neill

IN the now notorious opening scene of the Ten Network's racy new import, Californication, a nun offered the antihero, novelist Hank Moody, oral sex in a Catholic church. It's little wonder this upset Catholics, who have called for the show to be banned. Two advertisers, Holden and Holeproof, have pulled their ads from the show, a move that has probably given the insistently profane comedy a ratings boost. A mitigating factor, according to the show's supporters, is that the offending fellatio scene was a fantasy, a dream sequence illustrating the predilection of protagonist Hank Moody for unav ...
