WC 08: The X-Files 2 Movie Panel

Carter, Spotnitz, Anderson and Duchovny reunite at WonderCon to discuss their upcoming film.

Perhaps one of the biggest crowd pleasers of this year's WonderCon show was 20th Century Fox's presentation for the new The X-Files 2 movie. In attendance were series creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, as well as stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Right out of the gate, the group addressed the issues associated with the franchise's six year long absence."Because it'll scare the pants off of you," answered Carter when asked why this movie would be worth the wait. "Because you'll get to see Mulder and Scully together again, that's why."That said, Carter did elaborate on the ... [Continua a leggere]

Hey guys, got some X-Files 2 news for you.Just got off the phone with an old Canuck film buddy of mine. Movies preview: 8 awaited titles for the 2008 viewing season

X-Files July 25The Basics: The truth is out there somewhere. But the director Chris Carter isn't offering it. He promises only that the new film won't involve the alien colonization plotline that was a staple of the TV series and 1998 movie. Instead, it will be akin to the episodes that favored monsters, cults and paranormal. The Bait: Mulder e Scully. X-Files brings back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as the believer-and-skeptic team, a coupling that Carter says still resonates. "When we first got on set and I saw them together, I got chills", he says. "They've always had a chemistry that ... [Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

The no-show must go on

It's a surreal affair at the Beverly Hilton, starless and strange

Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards announcement, you really didn't.Strike-torn and starved of stars, the Globes were thrown, sort of. The nominees were left to feel their schadenfreude and/or exultation from some discreet location, skipping the formal dinner in a show of solidarity with their union brethren at the Writers Guild of America, which remains in a standoff with Hollywood producers.Without Clooney and Clint, or Angelina and Meryl, it was left to the entertainment press to gather at the heavily fortified Beverly Hilton to hear the names of the winners -- if not see them in the fl ... Winners had a toast, took a bath

Globes awards recipients share reactions

Most of the evening's Golden Globe winners were at hotels when their names were announced -- just not at the Beverly Hilton. "Atonement" producer Paul Webster watched the announcement with director Joe Wright, thesps James McAvoy and Saoirse Ronan and other crew members in a bungalow at the Chateau Marmont in Beverly Hills, glasses of champagne at the ready. "We were lucky enough to be able to pop the cork," said Webster, who added that he didn't feel cheated because "everyone's been treated the same. Somehow you find a way to celebrate when the good news comes out." So, should this truncat ... [Continua a leggere]
