Gillian Anderson says hello to a new baby - and a new X-Files movie.
It's 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and Gillian Anderson can't believe that her 18-month old has been napping for three hours. Babies are a major theme in Anderson's life these days. At 39, the actress is expecting her third child (she also has a daughter, Piper, 13), and she's guessing that, at about four months pregnant, she'll be slightly wider when she walks the red carpet next Friday for the premiere of The X-Files: I Want to Believe. It's the much-anticipated follow-up to the 90's sci-fi TV series that turned Anderson - and her small-screen alter ego, FBI Agent Dana Scully, along with David ... [Continua a leggere]
Six Years after leaving the air, The X-Files returns with a new movie – and the set hold more secrets than Area 51.
The van ride to the Vancouver set of “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” feels a lot like what approaching Area 51 must feel like. A mystery awaits, although you’re not at all sure what kind of clues you’ll actually find. The production assistant behind the wheel is perfectly friendly, talking about the weather (cold), the city (growing), and the best place for Chinese food (pretty much anywhere). But when the conversation takes a turn into X-Files territory, he quickly tucks today’s production schedule into his jacket and offers up more news about the weather.Back du ... [Continua a leggere]
CC: The motivation really was the hardcore, die hard fans, who are saying, “when are you doing the movie? When are you doing the movie?” We've carrying these drumbeats out there. We felt it, and people have taken out ads, billboards, and we felt it on the internet. HBO: According to the film’s stars, it was a teary reunion with Chris.DD: When we started reading Mulder and Scully, we looked over. He’s got these bright blue eyes and they just started tearing up.GA: Yeah.DD: I think we were both embarrassed.GA: No, we weren’t.HBO: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson ... [Continua a leggere]
DD: This movie deals with both spirituality in a specific religion, and you know the paranormal, so all those things come into play. And it’s debatable, you can debate it all. I think you know you go into this movie, you can come out of the movie talking all that kind stuff, and it’s always the same with The X-Files.*clip from movie*GA: After such a long period of a time, we come at it in that way. It would be kind strange of us to dive back into the mythology.DD: Mostly because we’ve forgotten it.GA: Yeah. At this time and place, and also people have gotten older, and there& ... CC: The show has been off the air for six years, but we actually think that has whetted appetites for the movie. So hopefully there will be word-of-mouth, hopefully people will know this franchise, The X-Files, hopefully they’ll come because it’s good story telling and it’s a big summer movie.GA: It was more exhausting the first time around we fitted it between the hiatuses of the series.DD: That was not good for anyone.GA: That was horrendous, this was pleasurable.DD: We went out, publicizing the movie, told people they didn’t have to have knowledge of the show, and th ... Gillian Anderson will take on one of the most controversial roles an actress can play on the stage. She will star as Nora in Ibsen's A Doll's House, which opens at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre in Covent Garden next spring. A new version of the drama has been written by Zinnie Harris and will be directed by Kfir Yefet. More than a century after Henrik Ibsen wrote A Doll's House, where Nora famously, walks out on her husband and children, that defiant act still has the capacity to shock. 'How does a woman... how can a woman... abandon her children like that?' Gillian wondered, when we di ... [Continua a leggere]
Gillian Anderson is best known for playing Dana Scully in the long running sci-fi series The X-Files. Anderson has now returned to the role in Chris Carter's new movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe. What made you want to return to The X-Files franchise after being away for several years? I told Chris that I was always available and ready to return for another movie when he was ready, and I knew that David felt the same way. We talked about this back in 2002 or 2003 when Chris and Frank Spotnitz already had a story in mind, and we talked about the story and felt it would make for a good fil ... [Continua a leggere]

Actress Gillian Anderson says filming her parts as Agent Dana Scully in the new X-Files film left her exhausted.
Filming for X-Files: I Want to Believe finished in Canada in March but the star, 39, says she struggled this time physically. She said: "It was hard work. I'm too old for this. It was a slog. David [Duchovny], who's in the best shape of his life because he had to bonk people every two minutes for Californication, did most of the work." She added: "He's climbing and jumping off cliffs. I didn't do any of that and I was more exhausted by the end of it than he was. I'm a wimp." Second film The X-Files ran between 1993 and 2002 on TV, with the first feature film, Fight The Future, released ... [Continua a leggere]

Inside an old ice-skating rink at the Pacific National Exhibition Centre in Vancouver, Canada, several rooms have a familiar feel. There's a fish tank in which a diver figurine has gone to the bottom. A wall is covered with newspaper clippings about the paranormal. There are sunflower seeds in a bowl, a basketball and a number of pencils protruding from the false ceiling. But the give-away is the poster of a spacecraft hovering over an out-of-focus rural landscape. Underneath are the words: "I want to believe."This is where Fox Mulder lives, six years after he and partner Dana Scully were declar ... [Continua a leggere]
DON'T BLAME A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN GILLIAN ANDERSON LATELY. SHE'S BEEN GEARING UP TO REPRISE HER ROLE AS THE FBI'S SEXIEST ALIEN HUNTER THE MUST-SEE "X-FILES" MOVIE SEQUEL.
When the X-Files Premiered on TV in 1993, the purpose of Gillian Anderson's role as FBI scientist Dana Scully was to provide a rational counterpoint to partner Fox Mulder's (David Duchovny) obsession with assorted creepy-crawlies. As the series became a huge hit, Anderson became a bona fide sex symbol. Lucky for us, she has five movies in the pipeline, including July's super-mysterious sequel to the first X-Files movie. Despite our prodding, she has sworn not to divulge any of the film's secrets. Fortunately, that doesn't mean she can't be revealing in other ways.----------------------------WH ... Seven years after David Duchovny left the TV series and 10 since the first ''X-Files'' movie, odd couple Mulder and Scully resume their search for the truth
David Duchovny is sitting on the porch of a farmhouse about an hour north of Vancouver, squinting into the wintry afternoon sun. It's late in the process of shooting The X-Files: I Want to Believe, and he's pondering the choice Agent Mulder had to make in the series finale: perfect happiness or the truth? ''I don't think of Mulder as a happy guy,'' Duchovny says. ''He's like a quest hero. That's why I like him so much. He just doesn't give up.'' Costar Gillian Anderson passes by on her way to the set. ''It's all lies!'' she yells out with a grin.Hey, it might be — after all, ''deceive, i ... [Continua a leggere]
