As most of you know, opening this Friday is “The X-Files: I Want to Believe.” Since I’m under embargo….I can’t write anything on the film or even what the movies about. Sorry. That being said, I can post what Fox supplied me… In grand The X-Files tradition, the film's storyline is being kept under wraps, known only to top studio brass and the project's principal actors and filmmakers. This much can be revealed: The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show's most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes th ... [Continua a leggere]

Psst, the truth is over here. It's tough to find, but in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the P.N.E. Fairgrounds, beyond a roller coaster, past the movie-star trailers and craft-services tent, and on a set designed to resemble a California bungalow, The X-Files is flickering back to life. It's here that the revered TV show's key players -- stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, director Chris Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz -- are reuniting for The X-Files: I Want To Believe. The film, opening Friday, is the second X-Files feature, after The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998), a ... [Continua a leggere]
Anderson reprises her role as Agent Dana Scully in 'X-Files' sequel.
Gillian Anderson reprises her role as Agent Dana Scully in "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." She spoke to Ramin Setoodeh. I've got to confess. I don't know anything about "The X-Files." OK. Why is it such a big deal? Ohmygod. You're not going to do this to me, are you? Tell me you're not going to do this. Oh come on! It's been such a long time. Hire somebody that knows enough that we don't have to explain this again. I saw the last movie, but I didn't watch all nine seasons. I mean, nobody did. Did they? Yes. There are some people that did. But that's cool. I love running into people who ha ... [Continua a leggere]
It may be one of the summer's most anticipated films of the year, at least for ardent fans of the Emmy winning TV series. The movie's title, I Want to Believe, refers to Duchovny's Mulder returning to the FBI to help solve the disappearance of an agent. The one clue is in the hands of a psychic priest [Billy Connolly] convicted of pedophilia. At his side is the more cynical pragmatist, Scully [Anderson] ex-lover and partner. The pair seem as comfortable off screen as on. Paul Fischer reports.
Question: Can you talk about getting back into these characters after a five or six year period?Duchovny: Well, I had two weeks before Christmas of basically running around and chasing Callum Rennie who plays the running bad guy that I chase all over the place. That took a good two full weeks of running even though I know it's only about ten seconds in the movie and then Gillian and I started working on it after Christmas break. The first two weeks I felt a little awkward and I didn't really feel like I wanted to do longer scenes. I was just fine running around. Then as soon as Gillian and I s ... [Continua a leggere]
There is at least one secret Gillian Anderson can reveal about "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." For Anderson, returning to play Agent Dana Scully, the role that made the 39-year-old actress famous, is what was really scary. "I found it quite tricky over the first couple of days to slide back into it," says Anderson. "It was kind of unexpected and a bit freakish for me." Freakish, that is, until the first scene that reunited her with Duchovny, aka Agent Fox Mulder. It was innocuous - just a brief conversation between the two agents as they walked down the hallway at FBI headquarters. But ... [Continua a leggere]
