X-Files 2 in arrivo

[Continua a leggere]

Interview: David Duchovny

If the truth really is out there, Mulder and Scully have one more episode to find it. After nine seasons, “The X-Files” will close this Sunday. David Duchovny, who returns for the finale, spoke with NEWSWEEK’s Devin Gordon about saying goodbye.

Can you spill any details about the finale? You know, I had trouble understanding most of it, so I’m not sure how much I can help. It’s a return to what [series creator] Chris Carter calls “the mythology”: certain people in the government—most of whom have Canadian accents, for some reason—are making deals with the aliens to save their own skin.A lot of fans stopped watching the show after you left and that new guy came.I don’t think anybody but my mom stopped watching. Actually not even her. My mom would call me and say, “That Robe ... [Continua a leggere]

Flashdance Star Was Almost X Files' Agent Scully

We all know Jennifer Beals from Flashdance — she with the off-the-shoulder sweatshirt. Now starring in Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alan Cumming's new film The Anniversary Party, the Yale graduate told me a little secret over lunch on Wednesday. She was nearly cast as Scully on The X Files when David Duchovny — whom she knew at Yale — recommended her for the part."They asked me to do that show," Beals said. "But I didn't get it. I still don't get it. With all due respect for the fans, I couldn't imagine doing it every day. I mean, I think their acting is very good, but I couldn't ... [Continua a leggere]

The truth about David Duchovny

Gillian interviews David. Hmmm. Simple idea. Why hasn't it happened before? Friction? A conspiracy? USA WEEKEND sends the X-Files co-star on assignment.

David Duchovny is standing outside his trailer on the Los Angeles set of "The X-Files," waiting for his co-star, Gillian Anderson. "She's on the phone with Mike Wallace," he says with a half smile. "She's getting interview tips." He's kidding. Anderson hasn't contacted the 60 Minutes bulldog. But when she does show up for her first-ever assignment as a journalist, she's exceedingly well-prepared. She was "thrilled" when USA WEEKEND asked her to interview Duchovny and was flattered to learn he'd suggested her for the job. Sitting "Indian-style" beside Duchovny on a couch in his trailer, Anders ... [Continua a leggere]
