David Duchovny on The TV Set

David Duchovny talks about this film that skewers the television industry

David Duchovny Talks About Californication

David Duchovny opens up to TV Guide about his risky new role on Showtime's Californication (Mondays at 10 pm/ET), the next X-Files movie and being lucky in love. TV Guide: What attracted you to such a darkly comic series like Californication? David Duchovny: It was more of an adult-style, '70s-movie-type comedy rather than what you see in movies today. It was adults acting badly, but like bad adults rather than bad children. It's so much fun to be able to play a guy who really doesn't care what anybody thinks about him.TV Guide: What's the key to your character, Hank Moody? Duchovny: This is a ... [Continua a leggere]

Hope for the X-Philes?

Chris Carter swears that this time there really is a script to an ''X-Files'' movie sequel... well, he swears one is being worked on, anyway, but can't guarantee it'll ever get turned into an actual movie

Believers who've waited almost 10 years for a second X-Filesmovie got a sudden blast of hope last month when David Duchovny, speaking at the TCA summer press tour in support of his Showtime series Californication, said on July 14 that he and Gillian Anderson are both on board for a sequel and that he expected to see a script within the next two weeks. Those two weeks came and went, and no script or movie deal emerged, leaving many to wonder whether a film is any closer now than it was in 1998.We got X-Files creator Chris Carter on the phone to find out what's really up with this project, and t ... "X-Files 2, the movie, is coming"

These words were of Gillian Anderson, the Scully of the popular American Tv series and guest of the 37 GFF. The series has not been made for five years, and the producers have no intention to make another- explained Anderson – but they are indeed projecting a new episode for the cinema". The first "X-Files" movie was released in 1998. The actress also announced her debut as a producer ... [Continua a leggere]

Ex-files no longer: Partners once more

In the five years since they last struggled with the supernatural in the X Files, the careers of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have diverged: he has struggled to find good projects, she has been acclaimed. Now they are to be reunited in the roles that made them.

When Chris Carter, the originator of the The X Files, first sat down with executives from 20th Century Fox to propose his idea for what was to become one of the greatest cult shows in modern television, Bill Clinton was a fresh face in the White House and promising to make the world a better place. But Carter told the suits from Fox that what he had in mind was not to put the smile back on the faces of Americans but rather to frighten them out of their wits. "There's nothing scary on network television any more. Let's do a scary show," he told them. And so began a process by which The X Files ... [Continua a leggere]

Duchovny and co-star Gillian Anderson are both "on board" to reprise their roles as alien-hunting special agents Mulder and Scully, he said. The script has been written by creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The pair co-wrote the first X Files movie, which came out almost a decade ago. Charles Nelson Reilly, Tony-Winning Comic Actor, Dies at 76

Charles Nelson Reilly, who acted and directed on Broadway but came to be best known for his campy television appearances on talk shows and “Match Game,” died on Friday in Los Angeles. He was 76 and lived in Beverly Hills, Calif. The cause was complications of pneumonia, said his partner, Patrick Hughes, who is his only immediate survivor. Mr. Reilly had been ill for more than a year, he said. Long before moving west to become what he somewhat ruefully described as a “game show fixture,” Mr. Reilly was an actor and an acting teacher in New York City. In 1962, he won a ... More X-rated than X Files

Effing, blinding (two swear words a minute) and flirting for Crouch End, Gillian Anderson could not be less like her chilly screen persona, Kevin Maher discovers

In a tiny trailer, in a clearing in a cold and wet Worcestershire forest, Gillian Anderson is swearing like a docker. “Movies should be whatever the f*** they are!” says the 38-year-old actress and one-time TV icon from The X Files. “If they are f****** disturbing, then let them be f***** disturbing!” Anderson in the flesh, impassioned and excitable, in black overcoat and blonde hair, is an arresting expletive-spewing inversion of a screen persona that often tends towards self-possessed froideur. She is here facing her final week’s work on the thriller Straighthea ... [Continua a leggere]

X-Files movie finally happening?

I’ve got to be honest and say that I never thought another “X-Files” movie would ever happen. I really didn’t. Sure, they - the producers and the cast – like to keep the rumour alive (once a year someone from the cast and crew likes to blurt to the media that they’re “talking about it” right now), but I just though it sounded like there was too much red tape; too many legal issues and a studio that needed big-time convincing (Chris Carter’s company vacated the FOX lot a couple of years back) holding it back. It seemed like an impossible mis ... [Continua a leggere]
