“There are fans who base their lives around The X-Files and have our faces tattooed on their butt-cheeks. Then there are the fans who are mentally unstable…”Duchovny on the new X-Files movie (Mulder & Scully picture above, think it was shown in Entertainment Weekly): “What I like about it is that it’s lean, fast-moving and focused. It’s like one of the classic episodes from the first couple of seasons.”Anderson on the series’ final throes (Doggett & Scully image above): “I don’t have enough perspective to say whether all the ... The X-Files: I Want To Believe hits UK cinemas tomorrow and we have an exclusive featurette including interviews with Chris Carter (Director/Screenwriter), David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully). Six years after the TV series ended, this film sees Mulder and Scully....well, we can't tell you. It's all top secret, so we can't say anything about the plot involving giant space dragons who shoot lazers from their eyes and turns Earth's inhabitants into piles of pudding. Aww, dagnabbit!
(trailer begins)(UNKLE's remix of the X-Files theme plays)(trailer/footage with the theme remix plays throughout this video, in between CC/DD/GA's comments)CC: The specific vision I had was, uh, well - I wanted to scare people.DD: There is a strong relationship between Mulder and Scully and it's not the primary focus of the movie. The primary focus of the movie is the ride, is the case, the procedural. What the bad guys are trying to do in this movie is something that Chris has rightly been trying to keep under wraps.CC: There's an extra element to the movie fundamental to the X-Files idea. It ... Richard: Good timing, because she’s starting on the day that after years and years and years of us trying, we have finally get David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson live on the show. They are sitting over there. Those two have dropped in on their way to the premiere of the new X-Files movie. Now I saw it this morning, I’m telling you, it’s really, really good. You need strong nerves and even stronger stomach. David and Gillian are here now. This whole concept is very X-Files, we’ll come to that. But it is a coincidence that we have Agents Mulder and Scully here, the actor ... [Continua a leggere]
Newer, more mysterious, more screenfilling
You hear it well: The X-files are back, and on the big screen that is, and WITH Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. And that should be a surprise: In 2002, when the series involving little green men, the evil government conspiracies and sinister cancermen had come to a definitive end, the two main actors proclaimed that they were fed up with the extraterrestrial mumbojumbo, and with each other. But, trust no one: in 'The Xfiles : I want to believe' Mulder and Scully are back as a team, although it might be that they kind of HAD to go back. Both Anderson and Duchovny were having big fi ... After six years out of the spotlight, director Chris Carter has returned to the creepy world of The X-Files in The X-Files: I Want To Believe, in theaters now. With such a long stretch of time since we last saw Mulder and Scully, things have definitely changed in their lives, and the same holds true with Carter. Here, Chris Carter brings Filmazing up to speed on what's happened with his characters and himself — and true to form, neither is what you'd expect. Q: Us X-Files fans have been waiting a long time, sux [years] to be exac ... [Continua a leggere]
Belief isn't easy to come by these days. But - despite most reviews - I still believe in The X-Files. Perhaps the biggest problem with this new film (sub-titled I Want to Believe) arises not from the stars (or the production itself), but from ourselves, and -- specifically -- our expectations. Based on the savage reviews proliferating on the web and in print, audiences and critics apparently desired a Wrath of Khan, when what they actually get is...The Search for Spock. In other words, X-Files: I Want to Believe is a more intimate, cerebral adventure than it is a "big event" summer movie. T ... [Continua a leggere]

What a wonderful actor you are.GA: Thank you very much.DL: Nice job.GA: Are you sucking up to me?DL: Yeah, *laughs*. But it looks to me that maybe... *pointing at her stomach*GA: Like somebody else has sucked up to me? *everyone laughs*DL: I guess so.GA: Wait wait wait...DL: And it worked!GA: Yeah it did.DL: Apparently it worked.GA: But let me...Speaking of, do you remember what happened last time I was on the show?D ... DD: I think a movie like this, you know without being too heavy, deals with what do these two people believe in. We've known them for a long time. We know what Mulder believes in, we know what Scully believes in. But what this movie is about, through a certain case that challenges both of them, they come to believe in themselves, you know. Love almost, in a weird, romantic way. You never think The X-Files is about love, but in a way this movie is about love conquering all these stuff that love, at the end of the day, is more important than what Mulder believes or what Scully believes. *clips f ... *bunch fan interview about whether they liked the movie or not*Reelz: Forget about aliens, this X-Files movie, I Want to Believe, is a stand-alone story about kidnapping, murder, and the twisted mystery of the human faith.DD: It's the same Mulder and Scully as on the series, it's about respect, and back and forth, opposition and love.Reelz: I'm a believer now. Because this movie came out so many years later, and the television show is not on the air anymore, you felt like you had more freedom?CC: We had the freedom to sorta of step back and say, "Where would these characters be now?" They've b ... [Continua a leggere]
The Hollywood Reporter says ''X-Files'' creator Chris Carter has been quietly directing the drama ''Fencewalker'' from a script he wrote
(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – X-Files creator Chris Carter has been quietly directing the dark drama Fencewalker in the Los Angeles area, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Although his second X-Files feature doesn't even release until next month, THR reports that the director is underway on this next project, which reportedly stars Natalie Dormer (The Tudors), David Cassidy's daughter, Katie Cassidy (Supernatural), rapper-actor Xzibit, Derek Magyar (Enterprise), and Meckah Brooks (Desperate Housewives). No one from Carter's or the actors' camps would confirm that the film is shooti ... [Continua a leggere]
I Believe
[spoiler free!] Yes, this is “just” a big episode of the show, but it wouldn’t be The X-Files it weren’t. The X-Files was always about being small and quiet and thoughtful and intellectual: c’mon, our protagonists were an academic and a medical doctor; their badges and sidearms were incidental. They were never action heroes. That’s why we loved them -- they were real and nerdy and passionate and engaged in their work. And we loved the show because it was scary, but in a small, quiet, thoughtful way that wormed its way into your brain and set down ro ... [Continua a leggere]
This suspenseful, intimate movie reminds us why we've always believed in Mulder and Scully.
It’s hard to say if “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” is exactly the movie fans of the revered series — which aired from 1993 to 2002 — are hoping for. The relatively straightforward plot involves only minor trickery, and you don’t need much previous knowledge of the “X-Files” universe to follow it. The director, Chris Carter, the creator of the original show, has dispensed with the convoluted mythology that bogged down the show in the last third of its run. “I Want to Believe” comes off like a solid — if not great — episod ... After six years of silence, Mulder and Scully are about to battle another dark mystery -- this time on the big screen. What can you expect? Whitney Pastorek sums up her yearlong search for answers
Night is falling in British Columbia. The air is damp and cold, and the buzz of a helicopter is fading into the distance. I am attempting to collect information on the set of The X-Files: I Want to Believe, but instead, to avoid being caught on camera, I am lying facedown in a muddy field. Yeah, I think to myself. This seems about right. Full disclosure: I am an X-Phile. I am also a shipper — short for ''relationshipper,'' online lingo for those who believe that the relationship between Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) should involve getting it on. B ... [Continua a leggere]
One year went by. Then two, three, four. Finally, almost six years after they wrapped, Gillian Anderson found herself sitting in a room again with David Duchovny and "X-Files" creator Chris Carter. "It was quite a monumental event," Anderson says of the first time they gathered to read through the script of the long-awaited second movie, "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." "On the one hand, it felt incredibly familiar and kind of melancholy and sweet and wistful in some way. And on the other hand it felt strange and awkward and like I was an impostor somehow on this other world." It was the w ... [Continua a leggere]
