This is the dawning of a new age of Aquarius. As the cat-and-mouse chase between Los Angeles detective Sam Hodiak (David Duchovny) and eccentric commune leader Charles Manson (Gethin Anthony) draws to its intense conclusion, Hodiak finds himself thrown headfirst into the volatile 1960s world of sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll. Duchovny previews the far-out action while also filling us in on the future of The X-Files and his plans for the summer. What is your process for getting into the groovy 1960s mind-set? The first season, I was watching movies like Point Blank. [Creato ... [Continua a leggere]

As The X-Files returns, David Duchovny talks about feeling vulnerable, those Gillian Anderson rumours – and why he and his co-star should be paid the same
A small crowd has gathered in front of the Fox theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. Carrying rolled-up copies of Variety magazine and holding up mobile phone cameras, they press their flesh as close to the metal barricade as possible. They are here to see David Duchovny, most famous for the newly resurrected science-fiction drama The X-Files, whose star is being unveiled on the Walk of Fame today. Duchovny’s closest confidantes are here, too – X-Files creator Chris Carter, Californication co-star Pamela Adlon, his manager Melanie Green, his brother – but they’re outnumbered ... Last July, we traveled to the set of The X-Files to check out the revival first-hand and speak with stars David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully). Duchovny and Anderson were in the middle of shooting the monster-of-the-week episode, “Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster,” written by Darin Morgan. During a break in filming, Duchovny and Anderson sat down with TV Guide Magazine/TV Insider to discuss what it took to bring the agents back, the show’s new mythology and guest stars, and why they didn’t want the 2008 movie The X-Files: I Want to Beli ... David Duchovny is having a moment, for lack of a better term. The Golden Globe-winning star is returning to TV with Aquarius, NBC's splashy new drama set in the sensational 1960s, his first album, Hell or Highwater, dropped this May and his first book, Holy Cow: A Modern-Day Dairy Tale, came out this past February. Oh, he's also returning to the role that made him a household name, suiting up once again as Fox Mulder in The X-Filesfor six episodes on Fox this coming January. Yeah, a moment is kind of an understatement. So is he crazed? "Oddly enough, not really," he told E! News at the NBC U ... [Continua a leggere]
"I didn't do it to be a rock star."
David Duchovny, troubadour? Yes, the former G-man is releasing an album. Of music. He's just as surprised as you are. After hanging up Hank Moody's black T-shirt on Californication, the actor picked up a guitar for his self-penned debut Hell or Highwater, out today, and the rock album features his brooding musings on pride, loss, and lots of remorse. (Sample lyric: "I see the sky in the ocean/The rise and the fall/What my mind regrets my heart accepts/Passing witness to the crazy costume ball.") Yet he might also be the most self-deprecating musician alive, admitting that he's never done karao ... [Continua a leggere]
We are living in a golden age of David Duchovny. Since wrapping his Showtime series “Californication” last year, he has released his first novel, “Holy Cow: A Modern-Day Daily Tale,” shot all 13 episodes of NBC’s upcoming ’60s period cop drama “Aquarius,” and is prepping to reprise his role as Fox Mulder on the limited-run “X-Files” reboot. First up, though, is his debut LP “Hell or Highwater.” And if you never thought you’d hear the words “David Duchovny” paired with “musician,” he’s r ... [Continua a leggere]
The actor says the upcoming six-episode revival will play "like a six-hour movie."
The upcoming six-episode return of The X-Files is just one of several highly anticipated TV series revivals in the works (see: Heroes Reborn, Coach, Fuller House). But David Duchovny said it wasn't originally the plan to bring his cult favorite sci-fi series back to the small screen. "When I was doing the show, I always assumed – because we started to do the movies – that we would naturally transition to not carrying the load of doing a full season of the show but doing a movie every four or five years," the actor tells THR. In the midst of it's successful nine-season run on Fox, ... [Continua a leggere]
The actor also discussed his next role, a cop in pursuit of Charles Manson, in advance of the 'Californication' series finale
With the series finale of Californication airing this weekend, David Duchovny says he feels like he has comfortably closed the book on his character Hank Moody. That's not the case, though, for another one of his iconic characters: The X-Files' Fox Mulder. During an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone about the end of the long-running Showtime drama, which will run next week after the finale, he said that he would be up for making a sequel to the 2008 movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe. "I would always want to do it," he said. "I wish we'd done more already. I wish the second one did ... [Continua a leggere]
