FT interviews X-Files creators

Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz talk to Mark Pilkington about The X Files: I Want to Believe. Beware spoilers!

After six years of silence, Mulder and Scully are back – and, as a result, I got the chance to discuss their new cinematic outing with writers Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz. A thoughtful, friendly pair – and if you squinted a bit and tilted your head to one side, they could almost be surf-bronzed, Californian versions of our own Bob Rickard and Paul Sieveking… FT: What was the impetus to get away from extraterrestrials for the new film? Frank Spotnitz: We knew from the beginning that we wanted to do a movie like most of the episodes of the show, which had nothing t ... [Continua a leggere]

Duchovny in «Voglio crederci»

... [Continua a leggere]

Does Anyone Still Care About 'The X-Files'? Here's Why You Should

Apparently some people out there, including at least one colleague (cough, Josh Horowitz, cough) think that the upcoming film "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" is not worth covering. I've heard several excuses: the TV show ended too many years ago; the stars are old; the movie has nothing new to offer today's audience; no one cares. Now this is a movie that, as an "X-Files" fan, I've been awaiting for some time - and I don't think I'm alone. Even for the non-fan, the casual movie-goer, there's plenty to get excited about. So, I will now give you five reasons why "The X-Files: I Want to Be ... [Continua a leggere]

As more and more information about the movie has leaked out and fans start checking off already-released flicks like Iron Man and Indy 4, you can expect the X-Files buzz to become deafening. The X Factor

DON'T BLAME A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN GILLIAN ANDERSON LATELY. SHE'S BEEN GEARING UP TO REPRISE HER ROLE AS THE FBI'S SEXIEST ALIEN HUNTER THE MUST-SEE "X-FILES" MOVIE SEQUEL.

When the X-Files Premiered on TV in 1993, the purpose of Gillian Anderson's role as FBI scientist Dana Scully was to provide a rational counterpoint to partner Fox Mulder's (David Duchovny) obsession with assorted creepy-crawlies. As the series became a huge hit, Anderson became a bona fide sex symbol. Lucky for us, she has five movies in the pipeline, including July's super-mysterious sequel to the first X-Files movie. Despite our prodding, she has sworn not to divulge any of the film's secrets. Fortunately, that doesn't mean she can't be revealing in other ways.----------------------------WH ... Interview: The X-Files' Gillian Anderson

ShockTillYouDrop.com spoke to Gillian Anderson on the set of Fox's new X-Files sequel, opening in theaters on July 25th.

ShockTillYouDrop.com: Why return to the X-Files after all of this time?Gillian Anderson: I think that I've always made it pretty clear, no matter what has been rumored in the press, that were we to come together, or were somebody to get it together to do a film, that I would be happy, willing and hopefully able to participate. There were a few times there where it looked like it might not happen, but there are many times when I, when people were saying it was going to happen, didn't believe it was going to happen. I was always on board, no matter else what I was doing at my time in my life.Sho ... [Continua a leggere]

Interview: The X-Files' David Duchovny

ShockTillYouDrop.com spoke to David Duchovny on the set of Fox's new X-Files sequel, opening in theaters on July 25th.

ShockTillYouDrop: So much about the plot is being kept in the dark, so what can you tell us about some of the themes of the film?David Duchovny: I think the reasoning behind being mum about what's going on the film, at least for Chris, is to give the audience an experience of surprise which is so hard to do with trailers. Having said that, the themes are the same as the show [which were] belief and faith and the relationship between Mulder and Scully and how that develops over the past four or five years the show has been off the air. As if they've been living, as we've all been living ... [Continua a leggere]

Chris Carter Can’t Act

The X-Files Lexicon was lucky enough to gain a spot on the press line before the X-Files panel at Paleyfest in Hollywood on Wednesday, March 25, 2008. For some cast members, it was a first reunion since the show ended. Everybody was in good spirits and eager to talk with us. But as usual, the brain trust, Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, were tight-lipped regarding any details about the upcoming X-Files movie. Here’s how it panned out. 1) FRANK SPOTNITZ and CHRIS CARTER Lisa: Which episodes, if any, does the new movie share its tone with? FS: I have to say, there is no episode exactly li ... The X-Files

The beloved-made in Vancouver series hits the big screen again this summer. Its obsessed fans don't want to wait that long.

At least this much is true: The plot of the second — and, as yet, untitled — X-Files movie, which was filmed in Vancouver and is due to hit theatres July 25, includes a good priest and a bad priest. There’s some genetic engineering and some organ harvesting in the mix. There’s a horrific disease, and a warped and twisted religious cult. There’s an 11-year-old kid in a wheelchair, and someone’s head gets chopped off. It’s all true.Or it’s all false. Holly Simon, queen of the X-Files fans, is certain it’s all true, because she got the same in ... [Continua a leggere]

X-Files Sequel Title Dispute

IGN sees new footage from the film and learns the title is still out there.

At the X-Files tribute/reunion at the Paley Festival Wednesday night, series creator Chris Carter was of course asked about the upcoming X-Files movie he directed and co-wrote with Frank Spotnitz. Asked why the film is happening now, Carter answered, "'Cause [20th Century] Fox said now or never! We said better than never." Carter said production had finished filming ten days earlier. Present on the reunion panel was actor Mitch Pileggi, who played Walter Skinner on the series. Pileggi is apparently not in the new film, and turned to Carter, jokingly asking "You guys did another movie?" ... [Continua a leggere]

The Truth Is Out There at PaleyFest

Though the show they love has lain dormant for six years, fans turned out in droves Wednesday night to the PaleyFest to reanimate “The X-Files.” Like, say, a zombie. Or a golem. Or a giant human liver fluke. During the clip reel of the nine-season show, “X-Philes” cheered for sci-fi Heathcliff Fox Mulder and savvy strawberry Sno-Cone Dana Scully. Things got especially rowdy in the seats when the two locked lips, a kiss that ended nearly a decade of sexual tension that had become as thick as ectoplasm. On hand to expose the truth were creator Chris Carter; producers Ho ... [Continua a leggere]

The Paley Center, formerly the Museum of Television and Radio, says that the festival celebrates "television's rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind the medium." I've already attended the Buffy Reunion and Dirty Sexy Money (click above for those reports). Last night I went to The X-Files panel. For what happened duri ... [Continua a leggere]
