Fans of The X-Files have been waiting for the truth a lot of years now. The truth they are about to hear probably isn’t what they were expecting: The show is over. PASADENA – Ultimately, we may never know if the truth is out there. Chris Carter, the man who created “The X-Files” – which is now in its sixth season – said it’s highly unlikely that the show will go beyond a seventh season, so he’s going to start telling the truth.
