Fans were thrilled when it was last month revealed The X-Files would be returning for a new season, and now loyal followers of the hit '90s series have been given a glimpse of what's to come.
On Monday, its stars, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, attended the Fox Upfront Presentation in New York City, ahead of their return to their iconic roles as FBI Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, respectively.
And while no official air date has been given as yet, the show is set to return during 2018's TV mid-season.
'The next chapter of The X Files, a thrilling, 10-episode second installment of the event series, once again will be executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully,' the network said in a press statement.
The cult series was first revived in 2016, 15 years after it first went off the air, and proved to be wildly popular.
And following a cliffhanger ending, which left fans sitting on the edge of their seats, the new series is set to pick up where the last one left off.
Gillian, 48, looked elegant in a sleeveless black fit and flare dress printed with red roses as she posed on the grey carpet at the Fox Upfront Presentation.
She wore strappy black stilettos and carried a navy blue handbag.
Her strawberry blonde hair was swept back in an updo.
Meanwhile, her handsome co-star kept things casual in dark jeans and white sneakers with blue stripes.
Currently nursing a broken wing, David, 56, had his left arm in a black sling as he posed for photos on the grey carpet.
He wore a navy blue shirt, his sunglasses tucked in the front of his shirt, and a navy blue jacket.
A host of other stars turned out for the event, including Halston Sage, 24, and Adrianne Palecki, 34. A newly engaged Emily VanCamp proudly showed off her engagement ring as she posed for photos in a figure-hugging navy blue dress. The 31-year-old actress last week became engaged to her boyfriend of six years and former Revenge co-star, Josh Bowman, 29. Jordana Brewster looked stunning in a slinky light pink dress, which featured a brown, black and white pattern panel. The 37-year-old Lethal Weapon actress accessorized with strappy white stilettos and wore her long, dark hair loose and swept to one side. Seth MacFarlane also attended, dressed in a dark suit. The 43-year-old filmmaker's new series, The Orville, is set to screen on Fox, and is a spoof of the classic series, Star Trek. Empire actress Taraji P. Henson, 46, also attended the event, dressed in a grey mini-dress. She was joined by co-stars Jussie Smollet, 34, and Terence Howard, 48, as well as the show's creator, Lee Daniels, 57. Queen Latifah, 47, also attended, dressed a long brown sleeveless trenchcoat. And Adam Scott, 44, looked smart in a blue suit, which he accessorized with brown shoes and a striped tie. Former Homeland actress Morena Baccarin was also on hand. The 37-year-old Gotham star looked chic in a navy blue lace dress and gold stilettos. Her long, dark hair was tied up in a messy topknot. Veteran actress Angela Bassett looked sexy in a slinky black jumpsuit. The 58-year-old American Horror Story star accessorized with bold gold cuffs and dangly earrings. Rumer Willis was also in attendance, dressed in an all-black ensemble. The 28-year-old seemed especially excited to spot Jamie Chung on the grey carpet, with the two actresses sharing a warm hug.
