Never, in my… 8 hours at Comic-Con… have I seen a more packed-panel. The cast and crew of ’90s TV sensation “The X-Files” came together to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary, and work some rather frenzied fans into frighteningly excited states, in a panel in Ballroom 20. Proceedings kicked off with introductions of the behind-the-scenes crew, namely creator Chris Carter, before the screens opened and we saw a glimpse of the show’s opener. Then, out of the black, came David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, waving their torches about – just li ... [Continua a leggere]

David Duchovny is the latest actor said to be associated with the long-gestating Pararescueman drama “The Last Full Measure”. The film, which also has Andy Garcia, Robert Duvall, Laurence Fishburne and Morgan Freeman attached, reunites Duchovny with his “Phantom” writer/director Todd Robinson. Robinson, speaking about the film’s lengthy delays in an interview with Zap2it, said Duchovny and another “Phantom” star William Fichtner have agreed to partake in the film. Robinson says, despite the delays, “Last Full Measure” is expected to film ... [Continua a leggere]
For as long as I can remember, I have had one passion. It involves two FBI agents, and their tireless search for ‘the truth’. For years we watched them investigate hundreds of bizarre cases – from liver eating mutants through to alien abductions and super soldiers. For those familiar with ”The X-Files” mythology – Series creator Chris Carter’s finale ‘The Truth’ provided a pathway and a date for the final alien invasion that would come with the end of the series movie, which would ultimately finalize the franchise. At a charity event that ... [Continua a leggere]
Frank Spotnitz is as surprised as we are that another ”X-Files” movie is hitting the big screen. CLINT MORRIS talks to the former executive producer of ‘“The X-Files” and the writer/producer of “The X-Files: I Want to Believe‘” about why it took so long for Mulder and Scully to be recommissioned. Did you ever think you’d be talking about another ‘‘X-Files” movie? I have to be honest there was a period of time there where I didn’t think this would ever happen. It was a long time coming. And how did it come togethe ... [Continua a leggere]
Another month … another makeover for a popular film franchise.
Hot on the heels of David Duchovny’s comments that the next “X-Files” movie is being brokered as we speak comes news from CarterEsque.com that co-star Gillian Anderson – who has played his sciency subordinate since the series’ commencement in 1993 – has opted out of the new film.Reports say Twentieth Century Fox is now in talks with Julianne Moore to replace Anderson as Agent Dana Scully. A deal is expected to be made before the end of the month.Anderson, whose star has risen considerably in the past couple of years (she recently appeared in the Oscar Winnin ... [Continua a leggere]
I’ve got to be honest and say that I never thought another “X-Files” movie would ever happen. I really didn’t. Sure, they - the producers and the cast – like to keep the rumour alive (once a year someone from the cast and crew likes to blurt to the media that they’re “talking about it” right now), but I just though it sounded like there was too much red tape; too many legal issues and a studio that needed big-time convincing (Chris Carter’s company vacated the FOX lot a couple of years back) holding it back. It seemed like an impossible mis ... [Continua a leggere]
